Why Rebuilding the Temple is

Imperative for Long-Lasting Success

The Apostle Paul wrote: “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” – Romans 12:1

“Spiritual worship” is not defined by Paul as having a body that is sick, dis-eased, overweight, or even out-of-shape. It is because each Christian is the Temple of the Holy Spirit which God has given us and in which He dwells that we begin the path to redemptive wellness. This is not to insinuate that being “well” will get us into Heaven; it will not. But what it does do is begin the process of cleansing the Temple so we can present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. This is what is commanded. We feel this obligates us to do everything in our power to make our temple as healthy as possible.

Rebuilding the Temple

It starts at the cellular level and in our lmited scientific knowledge, we understand this is where God likely started when He created man in His image. God knew exactly what He was doing. He created our bodies so that, as most everyone knows, the outer layer of our skin cells will shed every seven days, give or take. But how many of us know that we get a completely new skeleton every seven to ten years? This is the power of God and His magnificent creation!

Your body is constantly rejuvenating, repairing, and rebuilding itself. Unfortunately, it does a poorer and poorer job of this as we age simply because we do not know how to care for it. If you doubt this, then consider your current state of health, what you’ve done to correct it, and the possibility (or even fact) that the only result you’ve gotten is sicker, fatter, and a dependency on even more prescription and over-the-counter drugs. It’s a very sad state leading to a dismal fate.

The current nutrient supply we provide the body to complete its repair process is unsafisfactory. It is the result of our modern agricultural practices, our desire for speed and convenience, and our lack of knowledge. When our nutrient supply is inadequate, our state of health and mental acuity become inadequate. Our cells simply can not sufficiently repair, rejuvenate, or rebuild our body the way God intended.
